At Grupo Herdez® we reinforced our environmental commitment by investing in regenerative agriculture, water treatment, and awareness campaigns about sustainable packaging.
In 2024, we launched the Yemina® Strategy, a comprehensive initiative aimed at strengthening our connection with the Mexican countryside, its food traditions, and the development of a fairer and more sustainable value chain through the promotion of responsible agricultural practices.
In 2024, through Aires de Campo® we allocated $640,427 pesos to awareness campaigns, specialized consulting, and the development of promotional materials to communicate the environmental benefits of glass packaging as a lower-impact alternative.
We are committed to the well-being of the Mexican countryside. Through our Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture Program (PASyR), established in 2016, we build long-term partnerships with agricultural suppliers to source high-quality raw materials, grown using more natural and responsible practices.
In 2024, we sourced 134,081 tons of agricultural and beekeeping raw materials, 57.6% of which came from PASyR-affiliated suppliers.
+8,000

100%
of suppliers used biological control tools, 20% more vs. 2023
In 2022, we took a historic step by issuing $3 billion pesos in sustainability-linked bonds, committing to reduce our water consumption per ton produced by 25% by 2030. With this, we became the first food company in Mexico to issue a bond of this kind.
Despite the continued growth of our production, over the past three years we have achieved a 26.4% reduction in water consumption, going from 530.67 megaliters in 2022 to 390.50 megaliters in 2024. In the last year alone, this represents an 18.54% decrease compared to 2023.
As for extraction, between 2022 and 2024 we achieved a 3.2% reduction in total water extraction, going from 1,291.47 megaliters to 1,250.40 megaliters.
At Grupo Herdez®we understand that the food industry directly depends on natural resources and the communities that make their preservation and continuity possible. Aware of this, we have embraced a genuine commitment that we carry within: to operate efficiently in order to minimize our environmental impact and actively contribute to a more sustainable future.
In 2024, total energy consumption—including fuel and electricity—was 960,181.98 GJ, representing a 14.0% reduction compared to 1,116,256.73 GJ in 2023. We also reduced non-renewable fuel consumption by 22.3%, from 757,495.75 GJ in 2023 to 588,325.00 GJ in 2024.
In 2024, we took a key step in our decarbonization strategy by updating our emissions inventory across all three scopes, following the methodology established by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG)—a fundamental milestone to measure, manage, and reduce our environmental impact. In addition, we began developing our decarbonization roadmap to establish short-, medium-, and long-term actions.
Total gross CO₂e emissions from scopes 1 and 2 in 2024 amounted to 59,200 tons, reflecting a 10.0% decrease from the 65,804 tons reported in 2023.
In 2024, we increased the use of recycled packaging and packing materials from 12.7% in 2023 to 13.3%. This improvement reflects our commitment to incorporating as many recycled materials as possible into our production processes, reducing pressure on natural resources and promoting a more sustainable model across our value chain.
Regarding waste management, at Grupo Herdez® we seek to minimize environmental impact through a comprehensive process that includes identification, categorization, separation, temporary storage, recycling, confinement, and/or final disposal of waste.
